The game of roulette uses a roulette ball which is tossed by the croupier to the roulette's spinning wheel. The roulette ball basically determines which will be the winning number depending on which number pocket it will fall.

When players make a buy-in, it can be noticed that the croupier will push the cash paid to them by the players on a box. This is called the drop box from which all cash paid to the croupier in exchange for chips are kept. When you see a croupier use a tool to sweep all the losing bets from the roulette table, it is called the scoop which gives convenience to the croupier to do their job of collecting the losing bets of the players.

The croupier also uses the dealer's marker which is used to mark the winning number from which the roulette ball landed on to prevent confusion on the roulette table. It is only removed when all winning bets are paid and a new set of game is about to begin.

Becoming familiar with these equipments used for playing the game of roulette makes a player more educated. Learning all things pertaining to the roulette game also helps a player determine their odds of winning.
